Shawshank Redemption

After coming across an article on Shawshank Redemption, keeping in mind that it is second (by rating) on IMDB’s Top 250 movies (first by the number of votes) as of May 20, 2007, and one of my friend Mariel’s favorite movies, I’ve been meaning to get a copy of the video. I was not able to find a DVD anywhere, so I settled for a VCD copy. It is indeed one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. Mind you, this is the original Prison Break. Move over, Scofield. LOL. Kidding.

Not too long ago, bored at the office, I made a list of movies I want to see—old and new. I have been ticking off the list slowly since then, but would you believe I still haven’t seen The Godfather? Hah!

Shrek the Third

And since I’m all about movies on today’s post (o_O), why not talk about Shrek the Third? I watched it yesterday evening after having dinner with my friends. Yay for weekend last full shows! It still keeps up with the first two installments, though the second will always be my favorite. The gazillion babies in Shrek’s dream are just so cute and so adorable (I happen to love babies very much), and I happen to love Shrek and Fiona’s triplets just as much. So so so cute. Snow White was so, excuse my French, gaga. I could not find a better word, sorry. You can’t help but hate and love her at the same time—Amy Poehler rocked the part. It’s good to have the gang back. *I went over to the Shrek site and played the Shrek Sudoku game, and I’m sure this looks fine but can you tell me where I made a mistake on the third level?*

On May 16, one national paper said it was already showing at Robinson’s. Karla, Olumor and I immediately headed over to Robinson’s to see it. At the entrance, Shrek the Third wasn’t on the list (?) they have on the parking lot nor was it on the movie schedules inside the mall, and I talked to the ticket lady to confirm it wasn’t really showing that day. Stupid paper. We ended up watching The Reaping instead. I love Hilary Swank and all, but the movie wasn’t too impressive. It was just… okay.
