The Order of the Phoenix.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I had to watch it even if I had work at 9:00 p.m. I couldn’t let the first day of showing to go by without me watching it. I don’t know with the rest of you, but I think this time, even with the book with the most number of pages, the screenwriter has captured the important details of the book and managed to fit it in 138-minute film without causing any confusion… and the cast—I couldn’t help but notice how they’ve all grown up. So handsome and pretty, almost all of them. Almost all male actors portraying students have grown really tall and lanky. It’s kinda cute thinking how we’ve grown up together, with them experiencing teen angst, the first kiss, an unbreakable bond… Makes me feel like a child again.

I was thinking about the trailer where one line said: “A new order begins.” How could that be when the The Order of the Phoenix had been formed way back? Might have that been referring to Dumbledore’s Army, perhaps?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Daniel Radcliffe must’ve been working out a lot. He looks mature. Emma Watson… well, she speaks too fast. And what happened to Rupert Grint and Matthew Lewis? Did someone try to pull them apart but wasn’t successful? You might have noticed they’ve already incorporated Ginny (Bonnie Wright) looking a bit serious every time Cho (Katie Leung) was hanging around Harry. That’s good, I think. And Kreacher… I read somewhere that J.K. Rowling made it very clear it is important that they show Kreacher in the film (even with just an appearance almost as short as that of Draco’s!). I understand they had to leave out some Draco (Tom Felton) scenes though. Evanna Lynch is just so adorable. She is Luna Lovegood personified. Fred and George (James and Oliver Phelps)—no such thing as two much of a good thing.  And for Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter)… they couldn’t have gotten a better actor to play the part! One thing more… I love pink, but it seems repulsive on Dolores Umbridge (Imelda Staunton). Hem, hem.

OK, that’s a bit much. I have to go now… =/ Can’t wait for the seventh book!

P.S. My blog’s sort of turning into a movie/TV review site, eh?

Transformers

Transformers

Great, great, great movie. Great effects. Great soundtrack. Great reviews. Great everything. For a movie that I thought was intended for the male population, it completely blew me away. Movie goers young and old, male and female, would definitely love this film—one way or another, to some degree. Had I been in Shia LaBeouf’s shoes, playing the lead part in a movie that brings back the old school days, nostalgia and everything, this would be the ultimate dream come true. The fact that we were standing through the first quarter of the movie never bothered me the least bit. Couldn’t wait for the sequel(s)! Transformers is this year’s best movie. Well, so far. After all, before it was released, it already won the “Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen Yet” MTV Movie Award.
